Supervision is an opportunity for practitioners to discuss casework in a supportive and confidential environment, allowing for reflection and encouraging best practice, growth and development. Supervision is an essential part of ongoing therapeutic practice, and is a requirement of all professional associations.
During supervision, practitioners can review their work in order to learn from experience and improve their practice. The focus is to achieve the best possible quality of service for clients. Practitioners are encouraged to examine their practice, and to recognise their strengths, as well as identifying areas for improvement and further development. Although it is not training or CPD per se, supervision does involve an element of learning, and can provide a space to practice techniques or role play scenarios if this is deemed to be helpful. It is also an opportunity to keep up to date with the latest developments within the field of therapy, and to discuss research and developments pertaining to practice.
I offer Solution Focused Supervision which seeks to work collaboratively with the supervisee to develop their goals, best intentions and interests. SF supervision uses the same tools as SF therapy, such as focussing on and eliciting strengths, being curious, focussing on preferred outcomes, encouraging the formulation of solutions, and recognising change. In SFT, these tools are used to help the client move towards their preferred future. In SF supervision, they are used to help the supervisee to develop their professional skill in order to aid their practice and to provide the best possible service for clients.
I offer both group and individual supervision sessions. All supervision sessions are engaging and supportive, with a focus on inspiring practitioners to become the best they can be.
Group supervision is currently being held online via Zoom, with a view to resuming a face-to-face option as soon as possible.
Group sessions last two hours, and are £25 per person. Please get in touch for more information, or see the Supervision Dates page for current times and dates. Other group sessions can be arranged by request.
One-to-one supervision sessions are available at £30 per half hour, or £60 per hour. Please get in touch for more information, or to book in.
