I am very proud to be a Senior Lecturer for Inspiraology Hypnotherapy Training (IHT) in Plymouth
Inspiraology Hypnotherapy Training (IHT) is a nationwide hypnotherapy training body providing a Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD) Course for the modern hypnotherapist.
The HPD Course is of approximately 120 hours duration of classroom study plus practice between sessions and required reading over a period of 10 months. Successful graduation leads to a full Diploma qualification (DSFH) and the nationally accredited (NCFE) Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD).
I have always been deeply interested and inspired by wellbeing, personal development, and helping people to reach their potential. Throughout my life I have found various means of exploring these key areas through education, therapy, language and the arts.
I began teaching over twenty years ago with a Performing Arts group for local community project and went on to be involved in another community theatre project. Years later, after completing a Master’s Degree in Contemporary Film Practice, I began teaching filmmaking workshops at Plymouth College of Art (now Plymouth Arts University). This led to my writing and teaching the Creative Digital Media Apprenticeship, as well as additional Creative Writing classes for children and adults.
During this time, I also became involved in limited edition publishing and craft bookbinding. I managed two publishing companies, and still continue to publish to this day. In my previous working life, I have assisted students with learning needs at Plymouth University. I was also a Deputy Manager for Victim Support. Both roles allowed me the opportunity to help people through what were often challenging circumstances.
I qualified as a Clinical Hypnotherapist in January 2015 and quickly established a busy fulltime practice. In 2016 I was invited to join CPHT Plymouth HPD course as a Senior Lecturer, where I continued to teach students until taking maternity leave in 2020 to have my little girl. I have also regularly guest lectured in London. I qualified with the Clinical Supervision Level 5 Diploma in 2018 and am delighted to offer both group and one-to-one supervision to a number of other practitioners.
I am proud to help clients as a hypnotherapist, and to teach and supervise practitioners. These rewarding roles allow me to bring together my passions: I can combine education and a love of language with a real ability to help people. Seeing clients, students and qualified practitioners blossom, develop confidence, maximise their potential and achieve their goals is a true privilege.
As Senior Lecturer for Inspiraology Hypnotherapy Training in Plymouth, I am excited to bring my experience and knowledge to this innovative and future-focussed program. The Inspiraology HPD course comprises the latest research on brain-based psychotherapeutic techniques with a practical approach to developing clinical skills and experience. I am thrilled to be able to welcome students onto the course and look forward to supporting and inspiring the next generation of practitioners.
