What Is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a relaxing and effective form of therapy in which we use a combination of psychotherapy techniques, and the natural state of trance to help bring about positive change.
We are all familiar with trance, and go in and out of it naturally many times each day when walking, driving or watching the television for example. During trance, although it may feel as if we have switched off, our brains are actually working four times harder than usual to process information and come up with solutions. Trance heightens our awareness and concentration, and during this time we are more susceptible to suggestion.
In therapy, trance is used to help you focus on what you want to achieve, moving forward positively. We can dissolve unhelpful programming, and help you move towards your goals. The trance sessions within therapy are typically relaxing and enjoyable, and you remain in control throughout the process.
Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy is future orientated, and therefore we can focus on where you are now and what you want to achieve, rather than analysing the past. This form of hypnotherapy is based on the latest neuro-scientific research and the current understanding of how the brain works.
